Each Hero in Overwatch has completely unique kit and abilities. You’re not just getting abilities to bust out, but an entirely different weapon and way of getting around the map. Wrecking Ball’s kit is more unconventional. He has high mobility. Although, he can also soak up a lot of damage.

Wrecking Ball’s Primary weapons are fast-firing cannons. They output damage at a pretty impressive rate. While it’s limited to 5 damage per bullet, the fire rate of 25 per second helps to stoke this output up quite a bit. With the fast fire speed, Hammond’s main weapon can do a lot of damage still.

This ability lets Hammond slam into the ground below. It deals damage as well as bouncing enemies upwards. Piledriver is similar to a Super Mario ground pound in a lot of ways, you get up in the air and slam back down.
The Piledriver ability has a smaller AOE than players might like. You will have to hit enemies pretty much bang on if you really want results. You’ll need to practice this. It’s easier to judge where he’ll fall with experience. However, if you can use the grappling hook to swing into position you might still be able to pull off some big hits with this.

- Use Mobility to Get to Strange Heights – Wrecking Ball can access different areas that most heroes can’t. This can allow you to drop down from an unexpected position and grab the piledriver.
- Stay Out of Vision – It takes a few seconds for the ball to drop. Enemies can move in this time. Sometimes it’s best to drop from higher so they don’t see you about to fall.
- Short Piledrivers – This does a lot of damage. High drops are fun, but short ones work well too. Consider dropping from close by as well as far away. You can even do this from something as short as the objective. A lot of players can move in time, but it can be effective.
